About Ningbo University
Located in the vibrant coastal city of East China, Ningbo University is a young and comprehensive university in Zhejiang Province. It was founded in 1986 with the donation from Sir Yue-Kong Pao, the shipping magnet in Hong Kong. The name of Ningbo University was inscribed by the former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping. In 2017 it was enlisted in the “Double First-Class” Initiative, which targets the development of world-class universities and disciplines.
Ningbo University, home to 38,000 students, encompasses four campuses, spanning an approximate total area of 205 hectares. The dynamic campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and hosts an inclusive international community, with around 1,800 overseas teachers and students.
The Faculty of Foreign Languages comprises four teaching divisions: the English Department, the Japanese Department, the German Department, and the Department of Foreign Languages for Non-English Majors.
